And one last note: Payment of a membership fee gives you a direct share in the organization. The organization becomes yours, it cant and will not run itself and nothing will happen without the help of you and other members. So don’t let the payment of member fees be the last we hear from you. We would love to see you at our events throughout the year as well as become involved in our organization.

Join our little part of Scotland, here on the Gulf Coast of Florida in the USA!

The City of Dunedin was originated by two Scotsmen. Since then there has always been strong Scottish Culture alive in the City of Dunedin. Back in 1957, the Dunedin Highland Middle School was opened and one of the parents arranged for the donation of the very first set of Bagpipes. From the first donation, the Dunedin Highland Middle School, the Dunedin Scottish Highlander High School, and ultimately the City of Dunedin Pipe Bands were all created. Together with the Pipe Bands, the Margaret Morrison School of Highland Dance , the Isle of Skye Highland Dance School and the Tampa Bay Highland Dance Schools were all born, as well as the Dunedin Scottish Country Dancers.  Our SAS was established in 1979.

We own the Historic Scottish Cultural Center at 917 Louden Avenue, where we gather together and produce events. Events like the Burns Supper, St Andrew’s Dinner, Celtic Concerts, Hogmanay, Whisky Tastings and more offer a wide variety of ways to promote our Scottish culture.

Your annual membership in the Scottish American Society of Dunedin helps us to cover the costs of maintaining the hall, which in turn allow us to have events that raise funds to assist in helping us support the various Scottish performers in Dunedin (Dancers, Pipers and Drummers).

Thank you so very much for your support…. and thank you for joining us!
